Social Media Manager?

Hey everyone,

Yes, you read that correctly. The other opportunity that I've received during my internship was being one of the Social Media Managers for the Center of Digital Engagement! *Insert 10 claps*

I was so thrilled to receive such an awesome opportunity so I just wanted to show you all what I did and what I've learned from it!

I basically grew up with social media so this was like second- nature to me. Being able to post content on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for the clinic was exciting. I also did interviews with some of the fellow interns for our "Student Intern Spotlight" segment. It was very rewarding for me because not only was I able to make new connections, some I now consider friends, I was able to see how and why others ended up in the same program that I was in. My first interview got 68 views on Blogger which for a blog post for a summer- long internship, is a good thing! *Insert 3 claps*

The biggest thing that this position has given me is more reason as to why I shouldn't be afraid of failure. I have come to a point in my life where I embrace failure. Kendrick Lamar once rapped "I ain't scared of losses no more, I see life in that" and that resonates with me in so many ways especially with this position. I started to post more content and learn what I could improve on so that my content creation is on point! *Insert 3 claps*

Among other things, I've learned more ways to incorporate effective planning into social media strategies, how to better use analytics and statistics to generate more engagement, and about the journeys of other interns.

Until next time, have a good one!

Why I've Switched Blogs/ What Am I Up To?

Hey everyone,

If you've been following me, you know that these blog posts have been made on my Wordpress blog. I used Wordpress because it was the platform that I was most familiar with. I knew that I would be switching to Blogger but I didn't expect to do it before my internship ended. However, due to the simplicity of Blogger, I have decided to make an early switch. So, here I am! Welcome to the new and improved (Not-So) Daily Dre! *Insert 3 claps*

Now, just for an overview of what this summer has consisted of. I've been apart of the Center for Digital Engagement 2019 Summer Clinic Internship (it's a mouthful I know) and have been paired with a great startup company named Jottful! Jottful is basically a company that designs and maintains websites for small businesses. My goal for the summer has been to attract content creators to join our ecosystem known as Jottful Community which pairs content creators with customers who may need their services. We have been attracting these professionals using various inbound marketing strategies such as search engine optimization, back link building, and funnel optimization. We've reached our goal of 100 community members before the launching of Jottful Community on August 1st, 2019. *Insert 5 claps*

I've learned so much from this internship. More than I even expected. Among many other things, I've learned how to improve my performance in interviews, more ways to be a self- starter, and I also received both the Google Ads Fundamentals and Video Certifications! *Insert 10 claps*

I've also had another opportunity with this internship but I'll tell you about that next time. Until then, I'll talk to you all later!
